Privacy policy

Last updated: 4 November 2026

Filature has no account, no ads and no analytics, and collects no personal data. Your progress stays on your device.

1. Progress, notebook and notes

Your answers, pins, threads, notes, daily thread streak and already obtained episode keys are stored only on your device. They are sent nowhere, and there is no iCloud sync. “Erase my progress”, in the settings, deletes them.

2. The time and opening episodes

The app asks a LaCobble server for a signed, trusted time, to check the day of the daily thread and release dates: the request contains only a random single-use number. Episodes 3 to 6 are in the app, sealed. To open one on release day, the app asks a LaCobble server for its key once: the request contains only the episode's name. No identifier, no personal data. Like any connection, these requests go through the device's IP address, which the app doesn't keep.

3. The fake browser

The browser, Limier and all the investigation's websites are built into the app and entirely made up. They never connect to the real internet and contain no outgoing links.

4. Game Center

If you're signed in to Game Center, the app records your achievements there. This service is provided by Apple, under its own privacy policy. The sign-in sheet is never shown unprompted, and nothing is sent without a signed-in player.

5. Notifications

Release announcements and reminders are local notifications, scheduled on the device. Permission is only requested if you turn one of these options on.

6. Widget and sharing

The widget shows the current episode or the countdown to the next, from a snapshot written by the app on the device. A card or grid only leaves if you share it yourself: it contains no answer and no trace.

7. No data collected

No account, no ads, no tracker, no analytics. The app's privacy manifest declares zero data collected.

8. This site

This site sets no cookies without your consent. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics is loaded; otherwise, nothing. The support form sends your name, email and message to LaCobble support, only to answer you.
